About the
Events Series
THE
EVENTS SERIES
is a potpourri of simple, small scale productions in a variety of
locations, simply staged, with few technical elements, requiring little
rehearsal time. The Events Series traditionally includes vocal recitals,
readers' theatre, and variety shows. For performers, it
offers the added advantage of being able to be in a show that involves
significantly less time commitment than a major production.
Events
Series productions have been staged at a variety of locations throughout Vinton,
including the Palace Theatre, the Ray House, the Vinton Country Club, and the
Vinton City Hall.
For Season 2006 - 2007, the Events Series opens November 18 and 19 at the Palace Theatre with Family Album, this season's edition of our variety show. The series concludes February 4 with The Heroes of Parlor Town, a look at the history and development of ragtime, performed at the Palace Theatre by guest artist Brent Watkins.
